Stephen King is already calling it one of the best adaptations of his work, and you’ll soon be able to judge for yourself. HBO’s The Outsider, based on the King novel of the same name, premieres on January 12th, 2020—and the full official trailer is here to pose a chilling conundrum.
Following the grisly murder of an 11-year-old boy, detective Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn) finds undeniable evidence that beloved local figure Terry Maitland (Jason Bateman) was responsible. The only problem is, there’s also undeniable evidence proving he was nowhere near the crime scene when the murder was committed.
The 10-episode series also stars Cynthia Erivo, Bill Camp, Paddy Considine, Mare Winningham, Julianne Nicholson, and Yul Vázquez. Believe the unbelievable by watching the official trailer below.
