As you may remember, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II was originally slated to release back in February. It was then pushed back to the end of May before being delayed indefinitely. But we won’t have to wait too much longer for the hotly anticipated sequel after all, as it will now release on June 19th, 2020.
In an official statement, PlayStation’s Hermen Hulst thanked the PlayStation Community for their support and patience. He also thanked Naughty Dog for reaching the finishing line under such challenging circumstances, noting that the team had worked hard to deliver a world-class experience.
Set five years after the events of the first game, The Last of Us Part II sees Ellie and Joel living amongst a thriving community of survivors in Jackson, Wyoming. But when a violent event disrupts the peace and stability they’ve found, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. To do so, however, she must confront the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
