Netflix is unleashing a new zombie threat this year in the form of Betaal, an Indian horror-thriller series from Red Chillies Entertainment, Blumhouse Television, and SK Global Entertainment.
Centered around Indian folklore, Betaal is set in a remote village that becomes the setting for a breathless battle when the Counter Insurgency Police Department (CIPD) faces off against a centuries-old East India Company Colonel and his battalion of zombie redcoats. Patrick Graham (Ghoul) created the series, co-writing with Suhani Kanwar and co-directing alongside Nikhil Mahajan. The cast includes Viineet Kumar, Syna Anand, Suchitra Pillai, Jatin Goswami, Jitendra Joshi, and Manjiri Pupala.
