IFC Midnight has unveiled the official trailer for its highly anticipated Aussie horror flick Relic, and a feeling of dread practically oozes from the screen.
In the film, a woman named Kay and her daughter Sam rush to their family’s decaying country home after Kay’s elderly mother, Edna, goes missing. But Edna’s mysterious return raises more questions than answers—and as her behaviour becomes increasingly volatile, Kay and Sam start to suspect that an insidious presence in the home is taking control of her.
Directed and co-written by Natalie Erika James, making her feature film debut, Relic stars Robin Nevin (The Matrix Reloaded), Emily Mortimer (Shutter Island), and Bella Heathcote (The Neon Demon). Christian White co-wrote the script.
Relic will release in limited theatres, on Digital HD, and on VOD platforms on July 10th. Get goosebumps by watching the trailer below.
