Share & Splatter More Blood Around

Further to our interview with Mike P. Nelson, director of the Wrong Turn revamp, we also connected with Sitges to speak with the film’s rising star, Charlotte Vega – who many of you will likely have seen in Brian O’Malley’s The Lodgers (2017).

Also starring Adain Bradley (“The 100”), Bill Sage (American Psycho, We Are What We Are) and Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, “Stranger Things”), the original film’s screenwriter, Alan B. McElroy returned to the franchise he spawned to take it in an all new direction, astutely reflecting the state of the mind of the world today:

Jen and her group of friends who are all at critical junctions in their young lives. For this reason, trekking the Appalachian trail was supposed to give them a bit of clarity in terms of what they should do with their lives. At least that was what they thought until they accidentally cross into land inhabited by “The Foundation,” a hidden community of mountain dwellers who use deadly means to protect their way of life.

With Wrong Turn available on VOD, Digital, DVD and Blu-ray on February 23rd, SCREAM caught up with Vega to find out if filming was as rigorous as it looks on screen and how familiar she was with the franchise before picking up the baton to star in this unexpectedly deviant entry.
