Share & Splatter More Blood Around

Guillem Morales (Julia’s Eyes, Inside No. 9) is set to direct a new psychological horror movie called Brother, which WestEnd Films is launching sales for at the Cannes virtual market later this month.

Set in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in the early 1980s, the film follows the depraved Morrow family, who live off the beaten path and prey on young women they kidnap from the side of the highway. But unrest erupts within the family when 19-year-old son Michael tries to break free from their clutches and escape his past.

Brother was written by Fred Strydom and based on a novel by Ania Ahlborn. In a statement to Variety, Morales noted that the film “evokes the thriller and horror classics of the eighties,” and that it will “elicit the same dark euphoria as Rosemary’s Baby, The Silence of the Lambs, or Psycho.”
