Warner Bros. has confirmed that Salem’s Lot will be released exclusively in theatres later this year. The James Wan-produced remake is currently slated to come out on September 9th.
Gary Dauberman (It) wrote and directed this fresh take on the classic Stephen King story, which has previously been adapted twice, both times as TV miniseries. The novel follows Ben Mears, an author who returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot looking for inspiration for his next book. Unfortunately, the whole town is under the thrall of an ancient vampire, Barlow.
Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale) will star as Ben Mears in the new film. The cast also includes Makenzie Leigh (The Assistant), Alfre Woodard (Annabelle), Bill Camp (The Outsider), John Benjamin Hickey (Hannibal), Nicholas Crovetti (Big Little Lies), Jordan Preston Carter (DMZ), William Sadler (VFW), Spencer Treat Clark (The Last Exorcism Part II), Cade Woodward (A Quiet Place), Debra Christofferson (Outcast), and Pilou Asbaek (Overlord).
