Just a few weeks ago, Lionsgate dropped a chilling and atmospheric trailer for their big summer horror release Cobweb.
The film stars Lizzy Caplan of Hulu’s Stephen King inspired Castle Rock and Anthony Starr of Amazon’s The Boys as parents with a seemingly sinister secret and is described as follows:
“Eight-year-old Peter is plagued by a mysterious, constant tap, tap from inside his bedroom wall – a tapping that his parents insist is all in his imagination. As Peter’s fear intensifies, he believes that his parents (Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr) could be hiding a terrible, dangerous secret and questions their trust. And for a child, what could be more frightening than that?”
Now more good news is afoot with the film receiving an R rating from the Motion Picture Association of America. Said to contain “Horror violence and some language,” Cobweb seems poised to deliver on all the eerie frights promised in the trailer.
Samuel Bodin makes his feature film debut with Cobweb, after showing an impressive flare for the genre with Netflix’s Marianne, from a script by Chris Thomas Devlin. The project is produced in a joint venture between Seth Rogan’s Point Grey and Roy Lee’s Vertigo Entertainment.
Cobweb will hit the big screen this Friday, July 21st, and in case you missed it last time, you can take another look at the trailer below!
