Paramount Pictures continue to prove they are on their A-game when it comes to all things promotion-centric, cooking up a clever deal with Ring Doorbells to promote the home media release of Scream VI.
In an equal parts hilarious and adorable clip, franchise villain Ghostface is seen in full menace mode as he makes a call to Melissa Barrera’s Sam Carpenter. Talking into a ridiculously comical eighties cell phone, the killer warns her than no one escapes him.
The terror soon fades as Ghostface’s Ring doorbell alarm alerts him to someone outside. Frustrated, the killer implores a delivery man to leave his package outside the door as Sam Carpenter grows bored and hangs up.
A frustrated Ghostface takes his trusted bowie knife with him to the front door and promptly stabs into the package, ensuring the poor delivery driver high-tails it out of there. In the perfect topper to the hilarious clip, we see Ghostface has purchased a not-so-welcome mat that implores visitors to “Go Away.”
Ghostface voice Roger L. Jackson continues to prove he is one of the best of his kind and game for anything with this quirky little collaboration of a promo clip. Without his ice-cold delivery, the clip wouldn’t be even half as hilarious.
All-in-all, it will certainly remind you to pick up your home media copy of Scream VI, and if you feel inclined to purchase a Ring Doorbell along with it, at least you’ll know if Ghostface is at your door.
