After directing Absentia, Oculus, and Gerald’s Game, there was little doubt that Mike Flanagan would knock it out of the park with The Haunting of Hill House. And he did—the six-part Netflix series was undoubtedly one of the best horror releases of 2018.
While that particular story is all wrapped up, Flanagan will be bringing us more episodic terror soon with a second season, set to begin filming in September.
Titled The Haunting of Bly Manor, the second season will be based on The Turn of the Screw, the classic gothic novella by Henry James. First published in 1898, The Turn of the Screw is a tale of psychological terror concerning a governess who becomes convinced that the country house where she works is haunted.
Flanagan is returning to direct The Haunting of Bly Manner. We don’t have a release date for you yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
