Share & Splatter More Blood Around

Last year, it was announced that a new adaptation of Stephen King’s Salem Lot was in the works, with Gary Dauberman (the writer and director of Annabelle Comes Home) attached to write the script. Now, we’re hearing that Dauberman will also direct the film, which is being produced by James Wan.

King’s second published novel, Salem’s Lot concerns a writer who returns to the town in Maine where he grew up only to discover that it is infested with vampires. The book was first adapted into a two-part miniseries in 1979 with Tobe Hooper at the helm. Another miniseries followed in 2004, and the town of Salem’s Lot featured in the King-inspired series Castle Rock.

Dauberman is no stranger to King adaptations, having previously written the screenplays for It and It Chapter Two. Roy Lee and Mark Wolder are producing this new take on Salem’s Lot, which Dauberman will executive produce.
