We shared with you recently that David Bruckner (The Ritual) is directing a re-imagining of Hellraiser—but that’s not the only new Hellraiser property in the works. HBO is also creating a Hellraiser TV series, with David Gordon Green (Halloween) directing the pilot and several more initial episodes.
The series will be written by Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat, Krampus) and Mark Verheiden (Swamp Thing, Hemlock Grove) and will continue and expand upon the Hellraiser mythology, with Pinhead at the centre. It is not connected to the Bruckner film.
Green, Dougherty, and Verheiden will also executive produce the series alongside Dan Farah, Andrew Farah, Danny McBride, Larence Kuppin, David Salzman, Eric Gardner, Jody Hill, Brandon James, and Roy Lee.
