We told you back in January that CBS had ordered a pilot episode of Clarice, a new series set after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. The network has now picked up the series for the 2020-21 broadcast season.
Set in 1993, the year after her run-in with Hannibal Lecter and Jame Gumb, Clarice explores the untold personal story of Clarice Starling as she returns to the field. Starling will be played this time around by Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars). The series will also star Kal Penn (best known for the Harold & Kumar films), Nick Sandow (Orange Is the New Black), and Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead)
Clarice is written and executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. We’ll bring you more updates on the project as we hear them.
