Blumhouse Television is seeking to generate unscripted scares with a new horror competition series tentatively called Escape the Maze.

According to Deadline, the series is the first project in a multi-year deal between Blumhouse and ITV America and will follow “individual competitors who have been locked inside a dark and mind-scrambling labyrinth, designed by maze architect, Adrian Fisher and The Premier Mission Group, encountering a range of physical and psychological challenges devised to make the experience both frightening and frustratingly difficult.

Escape the Maze will be produced in association with Leftfield Pictures, the company behind the survival series Alone. Blumhouse Television and ITV America are currently taking the project out to buyers.
